Planting Perennials in Your Garden
A kitchen or vegetable garden may be very plain and drab to look at, and most people who take up gardening for pleasure, aren’t much pleased by the plain look. In such cases, planting some perennial flowers could be a better way to liven up your garden. Perennial flowers are those strong local flowers that flower every year during its season. You do not have to replant or do any extra work.
For planting perennials in your garden, it should be ensured that the soil has proper drainage. You should build a raised bed if the water stays stagnant and saturated for a long time. Choosing the right perennials could be difficult. You should choose only those perennials which flower as much as possible during the year, and prepare an outline for planting the same. For doing this, you can research the different types of flowers and create a plan or time line of the flowering. If you have planned it in the right way, you can be sure of having different types of flower blooming at any point of time in the year in your garden. And that would make a pleasant sight indeed. This can be made possible by getting the right mixture of seeds. You should also try and get a storage unit for the back garden, this way you can keep all if your tools and mulch in it without having to worry too much about pests.
Buying the right seed is also a complicated task. The local nursery or florist may be able to help you in choosing the right seed mixture for your area. Getting the right mixture is tough as most of the blends are optimized for the local climate. Mulching should be used when perennials are planted, and fertilizers should be sparingly used once the plants come to life. The seeds should be put in small separate clumps at a distance from one another. After planting the seeds, only a little bit of fertilizer should be used.
